Presents!!!!!!

It seems like forever since I have been here.. A long year full of life. Some good things but mostly hard life changing thing. I think it is kind of like Spring after a long hard cold winter then you get the pretty little flowers and life blooms again.

Gift Wrap

Gift Wrap

This is the first bit of work I have done in a long time. I used last years paper hand painted & stamped for a class we never used it in. Then a simple bow (okay i retied it a zillion times) . The tag is from my cricket with a Storyteller cartridge with some glitter stock. I am please at the way it came out. I love presents. I think it is exciting to get one but more exciting to get a present that is wrapped beautifully. It’s almost like a present in a present…

2011 San Francisco Decorator Showcase

2011 Decorator Showcase House

As some of you might remember, Last year I was owners On site Rep for the 2010 Showcase house. wow! what an experience it was wild, fast paced fun. I loved it (except when I didn’t)

I contributed to the Silent Auction with Taking Flight Cards. Today i received a very nice letter asking if I again would like to contribute to this years event. can you say YES!!!!. I will be again making card sets for my item..

I am honored that my cards last year sold for $20 a set. There were only 3 cards to each set.. It was SHOCKING to me that they were so expensive. I can not wait to start making cards. I will of course let you all in on the process, what I use and PHOTOS!!! I look forward to donating for the 35th Annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase.

I am already starting to think. I got a new Martha Stewart Cutom stamp Set Kit I am thinking about using it on the back to identify my work & this great blog.

If you are artity & would like to donate you can reach Nancy @ Nancyfudem@aol.com

Send me you card ideas.. Hmmm Maybe some scrapbook pages to enter as well!!!

When you went to heaven you took my heart with you….

I made this Tuesday @ A Work of Heart in San Jose, Ca. It is a really fun to make piece. It turned out that my really old friend was killed not but a few weeks before. So this is what came to mind. “When you went to heaven You took my heart with you!” because it reminded me of the experience of losing him. The techniques:

Some are from the Chicago Retreat (Cloth, Paper Scissors). They are having another one!!!  The backround was paper afixed with Gel matte medium It is from Jane La Fazio’s class. I love this technique of taking pieces of paper & shredding them then arting them up…..

The heart is a carved piece of floral foam. Idea from Kelly Rae Roberts book Taking Flight. We then cover the floral foam & wire wings with plastic cast material. The wings came from the same book But, a differnt project.

I then stenciled the paper with paint & various other stamps , etc….. before attaching the heart with wings to the canvas…

Well you don’t want to work in art anyway! hmmphhh!

I won’t say who made this comment yesterday as moving started but, I will say NOW I want to work. Today I woke up with all kinds of good ideas unfortunately, I have all my stuff boxed up.
The room has been painted it is called Raw Sugar by Pratt & Lambert. They are teasing me saying itlooks like puss.  I say it’s pretty & that’s all that matters!! It looks better than MUSTARD that’s for sure.  I got a great idea from Deidre that day light bulb will help lighten up the space too! They are on the shopping list.

I made the executive decision that I was not going to purchase new shelves but try to use the cabinets from staorage. They are not my favorite but the will supply alot of storage space. The are Akrum Birch from IKEA. The new ones I found for the room were over $4,000.00 So the ones I have are a bargin. They have glass doors. I am planning on covering the glass with something cork, chalk board ( I have great red chaulk board paint) or just frosting them. I don’t know yet.

I believe the most difficult part is the shared space asspect of this room. I can see a great big appointment on short notice with a big huge art creation on my table!!!! HA HA HA… I hope I get some creative clients.

I will post pictures later…

New Studio

Ok. So this is the new space. With no outside light & the ugliest of mustard colors. I must say that I am not very happy with no choice in the matter. I got the “leftovers” Let me also say that I Know this is more space then most artists get. It has a lean to sideways ceiling. Acoustic tile Blech!!Maybe tacks & paer over those yukky things…. I believe I have a long long way to go………Suggestions welcome…The color I have choosen if Raw Sugar by Pratt & Lambert.

Yeah!!!! Photos from Alameda

I got a lot of super cool goodies. I am looking forward to using them. I put a dog liscense on my name tag at CREATE. I dislike the name tag thing. It was my artistic protest. You can see a corner of one in this photo (purple)

I used a key that says hen on my Metal deck I started at the workshop with Leighanna Light. I will post my metal deck soon.. I liked her class & style of instruction. She is very encouraging. She has a happy, fun and informative way of instruction. It worked for me.
